Minima | The Philadelphia Resource for the New York State of Mind
While designing spaces in Philadelphia, where she had just moved from Los Angeles, Eugenie Perret (far right) found herself constantly going to New York to look for furniture. Finally, in 1999, she and her stepsister Juliette Brody (near right) started their own shop. Minima, on two floors in Philly's Old City, has quickly become one of the area's preeminent sources for all things modern. In addition to carrying such major European manufacturers as Kartell, Cappellini, and Vitra, Perret a Parsons environmental design graduate and Brody supply the latest work from American firms such as biproduct, Blu Dot, Blue Lounge, Owen Logic, and Bam Bam (the designers-in-resin they met while helping to furnish the new W Times Square hotel). Now a Philadelphia fixture, Minima is about to become a fullblown destination. Early next year Perret and Brody will expand into a new 7,500-square-foot showroom. To preview the space, visit this fall, when Minima, in collaboration with Terminal NYC, exhibits designs by a fresh crop of young Americans.
